A lot of engineering problems can be modeled as optimization problems. Machine learning, Robotics, resource allocation, among others utilize concepts and algorithms from optimization. In this course, we will study few fundamental results and algorithms in continuous optimization problems, unconstrained as well as constrained.
With a clear understanding of concepts in Optimization, the student will be equipped to pursue further advanced courses in optimization, and will be able to handle (continuous) optimization problems in several engineering disciplines.
